Nomination Period Open for 2008 Climate Protection Awards

EPA is now accepting nominations until December 31, 2007 for the 2008 Climate Protection Awards, which will honor state and local governments based on accomplishments developing technologies to protect the climate.

Applicants must qualify in one or more of the following criteria: originality and public purpose; leadership and corporate responsibility; global perspective and implication; and/or reduction of greenhouse gases. The award winners are selected by an international panel of judges composed of past award winners, with EPA making the final award selections.

The nomination form is available on the EPA Web site.
