Ventura County Debuts New Web site

The Thousand Oaks Acorn features an article on Ventura County’s VCMax Web site, which hopes to reduce the county’s waste by providing free “wanted” and “available” ads and links to collection events and energy saving tips.

The VCMax program actually started in 1998, and currently has over 2,400 participants. The Web site also allows people the opportunity to donate items to several California nonprofits such as ReStore and FOODShare for a tax write-off.

For a list of recycling events and thrift shops in your area, simply type in the product you’re looking to dispose of into the recycling locator search at the top of this page.
