Most Americans Say Green Efforts Pay Off For Communities
Environmental Leader reports the findings of a new poll by the United States Conference of Mayors that shows 66 percent of consumers feel that going green will make their community a better place to live.
The poll also found that 48 percent would be willing to pay higher taxes if it resulted in eco-friendly improvements. More than half (56 percent) want government to be involved in this process.
Zogby interviewed over 32,000 people nationwide for this poll, which was conducted in late 2007. To see more results, view the U.S. Conference of Mayors press release.
