Golf Tournament Provides Free Admission for Electronic Recyclers
Golf fans can receive two free passes to the 2008 Toshiba Classic, which takes place from March 7-9 at the Newport Beach Country Club, by bringing an obsolete electronic device for recycling.
Toshiba will be sponsoring the e-waste recycling, and hopes to collect 30,000 pounds during the weekend. Non-Toshiba brand electronics products will be accepted.
Interested parties can drop off equipment from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at either the Club main entrance or the parking lot, which will be recycled free of charge. The course will also have specially marked bins for recycling plastic bottles for this Champions Tour event.
Most electronic products will be accepted, but TVs, smoke detectors, air conditioners and major household appliances will not be. To find out where to recycle these products in your area, use Earth 911’s recycling locator.
Check out Earth 911’s Electronics section for information on why you should recycle electronics and how to prep these devices for recycling.
