Arizona Little League Programs Receive Recycling Grants

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has awarded 22 grants totaling $11,000 to Little League baseball programs in 10 Arizona counties as part of the agency’s Little League Recycling and Litter Control project.

The grant money will be used for display banners promoting recycling and for recycling containers at the fields. This is the fifth year of the program.

Each Little League field receives $200 under the program. The counties receiving funds include:

  • Apache County—St. Johns Little League District 1, St. Johns, $600
  • Coconino County—Coconino Little League, Flagstaff, $400
  • Maricopa County—Fourpeaks Little League District 7, Mesa, $600; Holiday Park Little League, Glendale, $600; Manzanita BallClub, Phoenix, $600; McDowell Mountain Little League District 6, Phoenix, $600; Mountain View Softball Little League District 7, Mesa, $200; Red Mountain National Little League, Mesa, $200; Royal Palm Orangewood Little League District 3, Phoenix, $200; Tempe Rio Salado Little League District 13, $600
  • Mohave County—Mohave Valley Little League, $200, Mohave Valley
  • Navajo County—Holbrook Little League District 1, Holbrook, $400; Pinetop-Lakeside Blue Ridge Little League, $600, Pinetop-Lakeside; Taylor Little League, $600, Taylor
  • Pima County—Sunnyside Little League District 12, $600, Tucson
  • Pinal County—Casa Grande Little League, $600, Casa Grande; Coolidge Little League, $600, Coolidge; Florence Little League, $600, Florence; Maricopa Little League District 4, $600, Maricopa
  • Santa Cruz County—Rio Rico Little League, $400, Rio Rico
  • Yavapai County—Verde Valley Little League District 1, $600, Cottonwood
  • Yuma County—San Luis Little League, $600, San Luis
