Earth911.com Heads Into Summer on High Note

Scottsdale, AZ—The subtle changes taking place at Earth911.com in 2008 are gaining momentum. With summer quickly approaching, Earth911.com President Jonathan Smith is leading the campaign to engage consumers, informing them on ways to dispose of unwanted materials, as well as the benefits of being “green.”

“Recycling is one of the easiest ways for people to go green, and it’s also one of the most important,” says Smith. “The exciting partnerships and Web site upgrades now in place allow Earth911.com to be at the forefront of the recycling trend.”

Some of these improvements include:

  • An increased partnership with BP lubricants, which lead to a reduction in the average distance between an Earth911.com visitor and his nearest location to recycle used motor oil from 2.1 to 1.2 miles.
  • A new system called EarthEasy allows Earth911.com’s 10,000+ recycling coordinators to easily input information on recycling programs and events.
  • New servers significantly increase the speed of searches, as evidenced by the nearly 80,000 consumers seeking recycling solutions during Earth Week alone.
  • The development of a weekly Green Tips email and a content shift with a stronger focus on resource and human interest.

Earth911.com is used for more than just its recycling locator search. Newly appointed Executive Editor Raquel Fagan is working to improve (or incorporate) the site’s industry-specific content on why and how to responsibly discard of all kinds of items, as well as what happens once the items leave the consumer’s hands.

“Our responsibility doesn’t stop once we show you where to dispose of the products in your life,” says Smith. “We want consumers and businesses to see how easily recycling can be, and how it affects them on the other side.”

So look forward to an enhanced experience when you use Earth911.com in the coming months. Thank you for helping Earth911.com Make Every Day Earth Day™.
