Plastic Recycling Makes it Possible

Scottsdale, AZ—Ever wonder what becomes of recycled plastic bottles? How about the procedure for recycling Styrofoam (yes, it is recyclable)? You can learn all about recycling the plastic in your life as part of Earth911.com’s product profile for June: plastics.

This month, Earth911.com is going in depth about the different kinds of plastic, including:

  • Plastic bottles
  • Plastic bags
  • PVC pipes
  • Plastic packaging
  • Styrofoam
  • Plastic casing

Topics covered include why these products should be recycled, how they’re recycled (both before and after they leave your hands) and what they become when reprocessed.

“We feel that empowering consumers with information about the products in their lives will get them more excited about recycling,” said Earth911.com Executive Editor Raquel Fagan. “We wanted to start with plastics because there are so many plastic products that people don’t even realize they use.”

Check back at the beginning of each month for a new product to be profiled on Earth911.com. On tap for July: automotive.
