Recycle-A-Bicycle Summer Celebration Approaching

Recycle-A-Bicycle, a New York City environmental education initiative, will be hostng a celebration with numerous free activities from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21. The event will include bike education, free safety checks and helmet give-aways, according to the Recycle-A-Bicycle’s site.

Recycle-A-Bicycle is a company that accepts unwanted bikes, which are fixed up and resold instead of ending up in a landfill.

The company promotes everyday bicycle use and works with several New York City public schools. In participating schools, a bicycle mechanics class is offered and an afterschool program allows students to volunteer hours to eventually earn a bicycle.
