Glass Packaging Institute’s “Recycle Glass Day” Video Competition

The Glass Packaging Institute is launching “Recycle Glass Day” on December 10, 2008, which will become an annual event to help build national awareness about benefits of glass container recycling for the environment.

In this first year of Recycle Glass Day, GPI is sponsoring a YouTube video competition for eligible university students. These videos should encourage people to commit to recycling glass containers as well as provide ideas of how people, individuals, and/or communities can find out more about recycling glass containers in their areas.

Creator(s) of the winning video will receive a $5,000 cash prize! GPI will also give a $5,000 cash prize to the packaging sciences department affiliated with the winning video.

The deadline for video submissions is Wednesday, November 12, 2008. Winners will be announced on Recycle Glass Day.

Find out more about submission guidelines, eligibility or download the Recycle Glass Day poster by visiting the Glass Packaging Institute’s site.

I am looking to be able to recycle my glass in the Springfield, IL area and how much does this cost to sart this program. There is massive amounts of glass in this area alone that is not recycled.

    Thanks
