Office Depot Offers Customers Money for Tech Recycling
Office Depot now offers a program called Tech Trade-In, where consumers can trade-in and recycle electronics in exchange for Office Depot gift cards. The program is powered by ecoNEW, a program administered by N.E.W. Customer Service Companies, Inc.
Office Depot’s Tech Trade-In program accepts LCD monitors, LCD TVs, digital cameras, desktop and laptop computers, gaming systems, MP3 players, camcorders, Smartphones/PDAs and printers. When these items are brought for recycling to an Office Depot store, their value is assessed using using a database on their website. You can also visit their site before going to the store to find out how much you can get for your old electronics.
Rather than throwing these items out or letting them collect dust in your garage, this recycling program can help you responsibly manage your electronic waste (e-waste), and put a little cash back in your pocket.
Looking to upgrade? To find out more about recycling e-waste in your area, use Earth911.

Jennifer,
This program appears to no longer exist. I must pay to recycle my computer. Please remove this reference.

Jennifer: Two local Ofc Depots know nothing–1 would sell us a recycle box for $15.00. The main 866 number was polite–but he more or less said it was a work in progress and the values for equipment on the website were being re-evaluated. Said send equipment and Ofc Depot would be in touch…..well ….
We think you need to wait and see b/4 locking OD in as an alternative.
Your overall goal is much appreciated.
