Oregon Electronics Recycling Program Up & Running
Oregon’s largest state-wide electronics recycling program, with the support of 21 electronics manufacturers, began operating almost three months before a new state law takes effect requiring free recycling of electronic products.
The Electronic Manufacturers Recycling Management Company, LLC (MRM) and CRT Processing, LLC are using the end of 2008 as a test period for the program. During this time it will be funded by Panasonic, Toshiba and CRT Processing, with all 21 manufacturers financing the program starting in 2009.
The Oregon law takes effect January 1, 2009, and holds manufacturers financially responsible for offering free recycling of electronics to consumers and small businesses.
You can find electronic recycling locations regardless of your home state using Earth911.
