Free Ski & Snowboard Gear Recycling In Vail, CO

The town of Vail, Colo., has teamed up with Vail Sports, Vail Resorts and SnowSports Industries America to offer a free ski and snowboard gear recycling effort.

Items accepted include snowboards, skis, boots and poles. Collection will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m on Nov. 13-15 at the east end of the Lionshead parking structure in Vail.

Equipment in good condition will be donated to charitable ski programs. The rest will be taken to a facility south of Denver, where it will be shredded and used to make products such as composite decking, flooring and furniture.

The program joins other snow gear recycling efforts across the state in endeavoring to make it a greener winter season in the Centennial State.

For more information, call Bill Carlson, Vail’s environmental health officer, at (970)479-2333.
