‘Recycling is Magic’ on Earth Day
Disney Store North America will focus its attention on plastic this Earth Day 2009. More than 200 U.S. stores will offer a bin for recycling plastic bottles, provide free reusable water bottles to recyclers and sell shirts and tote bags made of recycled plastic bottles.

The “Recycling is Magic” program will take place on April 22, and while supplies last those who bring in three plastic bottles for recycling will receive a free commemorative Earth Day reusable water bottle.
Earth Day will also be the kick off for the Disney Store’s line of shirts and tote bags made from RETHINK fabric. This textile is made by cleaning, smashing and turning plastic bottles into flakes. Each shirt and bag will be branded with Disney’s Mother Earth design.
The Disney Store has produced 96,000 tote bags and is working with the Nature Conservancy to plant a tree for each bag as part of the Plant a Billion Trees campaign.
You can find the nearest Disney Store location online. If you don’t have one nearby, you can use Earth911.com to find out where to recycle plastic bottles inyour area.
