I grew up in New York City and the South Bronx had always had the reputation of being dangerous, impoverished and not a place you’d like to visit. It is so uplifting to see the positive green changes that have been turning this area into a fine, sustainable neighborhood where people want to make a life for their families. Way to go South Bronx!

Wonderful choices. My personal hero, Captain Paul Watson, deserves recognition for proving that action speaks louder than words and proving that a low funded Sea Shepherd can take on a whole whaling feat and actually save whales. He shames many governments and other wealthy environmental groups who do nothing but talk!
