Earth911 is Looking for a Spring Editorial Intern

Wanna intern for the coolest company in the green sphere? OK, we may be a little biased, but our editorial interns are not coffee fetchers – they’re important writing and editing machines!

If you have a love for the environment, passion for writing and a knack for editing, we want you! Our tricked-out office is based in Phoenix, but we welcome candidates from across the nation, as we can accommodate a telecommuting intern.

What we’re searching for:

- A basic understanding of environmental topics including recycling, proper disposal, cradle-to-cradle and renewable energy

- The ability to coordinate and conduct interviews with secondary sources. This includes researching contact information that would be appropriate for the subject

- An understanding of translating scientific or government terminology into content designed for a consumer audience

- A thorough knowledge of AP Style

- The ability to produce content with a consistent, neutral tone

What you’ll be doing around here:

- Complete assigned topics utilizing thorough research and supporting interviews and/or information

- Deliver articles in a tone that is consistent with Earth911’s style and voice

- Assist the staff with posts and activities within various social media communities such as Twitter and Facebook

- Review outdated content on the Web site for updated statistics, proper grammar, AP Style and fresh formatting

This internship is for credit only. Candidates must be enrolled in college-level courses.The application deadline is Dec. 14. Internship starts in mid-January and runs through the end of April, depending on credit requirements of university. Candidates should send cover letter, resume and two relevant writing samples to:
