Freon

Freon is DuPont’s trade name for its odorless, colorless, nonflammable and noncorrosive refrigerant. It is used in air conditioning units and refrigeration systems, as well as refrigerators and freezers. In the ’90s, most uses of Freon chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) were phased out due to the effect that CFCs have on the ozone layer.
