The 24th Annual Keep Austin Beautiful Awards will call attention to recycling/waste reduction plans of local businesses, school and other Austin, Texas organization. The awards will also recognize achievements in community involvement and environmental education.

Nominations will be accepted through June 15, and winners will be announced at the annual KAB Awards Luncheon on October 28. There are eight categories including special designations for individual achievement and youth-focused projects.

Last year’s winners included Goodwill’s electronics recycling program, waste hauler Allied Waste and Texas-based Whole Foods Market.

Keep Austin Beautiful is an affiliate of the national organization Keep America Beautiful. While Keep America Beautiful does not offer national awards, many of its local affiliates offer awards to groups that provide beautification efforts.
