The Challenge

Whether you are traveling abroad or headed to the beach, some summer adventures call for sneaky ways to hide or protect your money.

We reached out to four of our favorite DIY/Craft bloggers and tasked them with a challenge: Using upcycled materials, come up with a creative way to stash your cash.

Take a look at the inspiring and beautifully functional projects we received and vote for your favorite design at the end. Voting is now closed. Congratulations to Donatella Mistriner of Inspiration & Realisation, with entry No. 4, on the win.

Are you a craft blogger? Pitch your creative self to Earth911 for consideration for our next design challenge. Email your name and a link to your blog to 2013 is all about you, you crafty DIY-ers of the blogosphere!

Our first clever cash concealer comes from Leslie Manlapig from the blog Pink Stripey Socks.

Manlapig: “A chocolate bar wrapper is the perfect place to stash some cash. With a couple minutes of tweaking, you’ll have a thin and lightweight wallet. No one will suspect that it’s filled with bills and not candy!”
