Solid Waste and Recycling
Alabama generates over five million tons of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) each year. It makes no sense to landfill paper, yard waste, metals, glass, plastic, used motor oil etc. when there are markets and uses for many of these materials. The following sites should help everyone better manage the solid waste they generate everyday and keep these resources from being landfilled or disposed of improperly.

- Plant Protection and Pesticide Management Division—Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, pesticide management guidelines.
- Consumer Specialty Products Association—Household Products Management
