I would love to be involved in my community, Petersburg, AK. in some capacity with recycling. I’ve been attempting to get a program started for recycling in our harbor. We are a fishing community and have a large fleet. I am a commercial fisherman and live on a boat here. Where can I start to get information on getting program started? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you for a response in advance.

Pellets are a great way to heat your home, but there’s a problem. Pellets are typically stored in thick, plastic #4 40-pound bags. In a typical Alaska winter, that’s hundreds of bags per user. Does anyone know how to recycle this material?

    Thanks

I am trying to start recycling in Kake. If there is anyone out there that has any pointers on how to do this your help would be greatly appreciated. Where could i look for someone to come into Kake to pick up the recyclables like aluminum cans, paper, and maybe plastics. I want to better my environment here in my hometown of Kake.
