California Coastal Cleanup Day

California Coastal Cleanup Day is a statewide annual shoreline cleanup in which all Californians can volunteer to clean up trash and recyclables from California’s beaches, lakes and waterways.

California Coastal Cleanup Day offers over 800 sites where you can volunteer. It is held on the same day as International Coastal Cleanup, typically in mid-September.

If you’d like to do more to keep local beaches clean, you can participate in the Adopt-A-Beach program. This program has groups commit to cleaning up a local beach at least three times per year. Call (800) COAST-4U to learn more.
