I have recently started vounteering in the PACU unit of a large hospital and am appalled at the waste.
Surely there has to be somewhere for barely used oxygen masks, tubing and all the many disposable items used in units such as this? There is such tremendous need gobally for all this stuff, and watching them being tossed without a thought is awful - why don't hospitals at least have recycling centres for all their waste? Not just sharps disposal but all the other countless items used daily?

i do part time maintenance work at the school. in a couple of weeks, i will be changing at least 10 metal halide parking lot lights. i know they have mercury in them and i want to know how and where to properly discard the old light bulbs. i also have been saving quite a few flourescent tubes for disposal. can you help me out here?
