Bring One For the Chipper
Holiday Treecycling Program
“Bring One for the Chipper” is Georgia’s annual Christmas tree recycling campaign. Since the program’s inception, over 4.5 million Christmas trees have been recycled across the state. To participate, just check your local paper or Earth911.com in December to locate the drop off point nearest you and note the hours of operation.
Each January, remove all of the decorations from your Christmas tree (ornaments, tinsel etc.) and take your tree to the drop off site. Your tree will be chipped into mulch or used as wildlife habitat. Either way, you’ll help keep your tree out of the landfill and put it to good use. You will also receive a free seedling for as long as supplies last and in some communities, free mulch is also available.
