STYROFOAM, the NIGHTMARE! I can't recycle this poison at the Barnstable Dump! Are there any laws governing the proliferation or the sane re-use of this stuff?

Gayle, I can't help you with laws, but please see www.refoamit.com for Styrofoam recycling events.

Hi Leslie, what kind of batteries are you looking to recycle? Auto? Single-use? Rechargeables? You can search for any of these and more in the green search box at the top of this page - just enter your ZIP and if there are programs nearby, you'll find them! Thanks!

Please call EOMS Recycling Inc at 508 587 9686 or visit http://www.kingofcardboard.net for your cardboard & other recycling materials needs.

As far as Christmas trees, I recently read goats easily eat Christmas trees. Perhaps you could ask around for a local goat farm.

Hi…we recently purchased some furniture that came with styrofoam packing and I don’t know where to take it to recyle it in the Belchertown area. There is quite a bit of it and I hate to just put it in the trash but can’t find anywhere to take it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

If you are a business and are looking for a cardboard recycling company, please contact
EOMS- The King of Cardboard at 508 587 9686 or visit them at http://www.kingofcardboard.net.
They are located in West Bridgewater, MA.

As far as Styrofoam, call FP International at 508 832 5369 or Polyfoam Corporation 508 234 6323.
There is also a company in Framingham, which recycles Styrofoam. Call the Framingham DPW and ask for the Recycling Coordinator. Be sure to write to the company who sold the product and packed it in Styrofoam and urged them to find alternate packaging materials.

I have a lot of old, broken plastic toys, some of which are large (like a kid’s swimming pool) that I would like to recycle if possible. I live in the Berkshires, so anywhere from Northampton west would be good.

I’d like to know where to recylce ball point pens, sharpies, highlighters and items similar. The plastic covering should be able to be reused, but I’m more concerned about the ink inside that could leach out and other toxins. ANY IDEAS!

Hi, I’m a student working for my father’s company and we install audio and video equipment. Now I know that our waste could be divided into many categories, but I don’t know where the bulk of it should be disposed of. This bulk consists of old speakers, amplifiers, and similar electronics (some dating back 20 or 30 years). As well as this we dispose of a lot of wire, cardboard, and styrofoam. Any sort of recycling area suggestion would be better than the standard dumpster we have used for so long. Thank you.

    Hi
I am trying to recycle long fluorescent lighting tubes. I have called and visited the local Home depot and Lowes, But both do not accept the long tube lighting. Does anyone know where I could recycle them around the Boston/ I-95 belt area?
