I occasionally use “Ick and fungus” treatment for my fishes. The treatment consists of chemicals that are carcinogenic to humans such as formalin and malachite. The concentration of the fishes’ bath treatment is 10 gtts. of the chemical to 1 gallon of water. The bath treatment is for 3 days and sometimes need to be extended for 3 more days. My question is: where can we dispose the diluted chemical? Is is safe to flush it down the toilet? We live in a country and we have our own septic tank, although about 20 feet away is the location of my garden. It will be about 4-5 months before I will be using my garden, What advise can you give me?
