Metal Clothes Hangers
Though many clothes hangers today are made of plastic, the wire hanger dates back to 1869, when O. A. North of New Britain, Conn., was first credited with creating one. Since then, wire hangers have played a major part in the dry cleaning business, as well as pop culture (”no wire hangers, EVER!”- Mommie Dearest, 1981). Since most of us don’t stick to such a strict outlawing of this little wire wonder, owning and disposing of them properly is important.
