Hewlett Packard Features Earth 911 in Magazine Advertisements and Direct Mail Pieces to State and Local Governments

Phoenix, AZ., Ariz. April 3, 2003 “…with hp’s help, Earth 911 created a revolutionary Web site that benefits the world.” This is what the new HP advertisement inside the front cover of the March issue of Governing magazine and in the center spread of the March issue of Government Technology magazine proudly touts. A direct piece has also been sent to state and local government IT departments nationwide. Both advertisements explain how Earth 911 is able to coordinate information from over 10,000 government agencies into one Web site with the help of HP desktop products and servers with Intel® XeonTM processors.

Hewlett Packard is a new partner to Earth 911, but not to environmental stewardship. HP works toward a sustainable future by developing programs that reduce their environmental footprint, as well as those of their customers and partners. They assist with the recycling of hardware, LaserJet supplies, and inkjet supplies, and truly help Make Every Day Earth Day for Earth 911, the general public, and the thousands of government agencies that depend on Earth 911 to help them get environmental information out to the public.

The advertisements further explain, “The award-winning Earth 911 Web site provides real-time data so efficiently, it continues to set new standards of how e-government can run. And it’s not only helping save the planet, it’s helping save the government millions of dollars along the way. It’s a simple matter of efficiency. With almost every city in every state throughout the country now involved, Earth 911 has created a singular outlet where government officials can gather data and disseminate it to the public, saving everyone time and money.”
