California Clean Tech Open Announces Finalists

The California Clean Tech Open has announced its 50 finalists in a competition where winners in six different categories will take home $100,000 in start-up capital to develop a green technology business. The six categories cover: Air, Water & Waste; Energy Efficiency; Green Building; Renewables; Smart Power and Transportation.

All finalists will be invited to a series of entrepreneur workshops sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, before delivering formal pitches to a judging panel.

Finalists will be judged on criteria such as concept and product, feasibility and sustainability. The winners will be announced at the grand final event on October 29, 2007 in San Francisco.
