New York Thruway Sets Up Recycling Containers at Rest Areas
The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle writes that the New York State Thruway will feature recycling containers at its travel plazas for road-trippers to drop off glass, plastic, newsprint and aluminum cans beginning on Friday, August 24.
While six of the 27 plazas will offer full recycling capability, all 27 will have recycling containers of some sort.
“The recycling containers themselves are made of 100 percent recycled plastic. They have been placed in “highly visible” areas outside the main entrances to the travel plazas.”
Because the New York Thruway is a toll road that runs across the state from Buffalo to Albany, drivers will utilize these travel plazas as a way of getting gas and/or food without having to exit and pay a toll.
