New Data: Growth In Carbon Emissions Slowing
Environmental News Network reports that for the first time since statistics were taken by the U.S. Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center (CDIAC), growth in carbon emissions reduced in 2006 to 2.6 percent in 2006, versus 3.3 percent in 2005.
Even though the latest numbers may show that the growth is reducing, numbers are still growing and continued growth could have an impact in a few years.
“A series of major reports by a panel of U.N. scientists earlier this year painted a bleak picture of more extreme weather including droughts, heat waves and floods unless mankind gets a grip on its output of greenhouse gases.”
