Happy Hollow Park Hosts E-Waste Event

Happy Hollow Park & Zoo in San Jose, CA will have a one day free e-waste collection event on October 20 in the parking lot behind the History Park.

Accepted items will include computers, monitors, CPUs, televisions, fax machines, radios, DVD/VCR Players, speakers, cell phones, Zip drives, lab equipment, printers, microwaves, shredders, power supplies, cables/cords, telephones/cell phones and stereos. Items that will not be accepted include kitchen appliances, fluids, copiers, ink or toner cartridges and batteries.

Receive a Happy Hollow admission pass when you bring in a monitor or television, as these items are the most toxic when disposed of improperly. All items will be recycled by ASL, a California authorized e-waste recycler.

All of the funds earned from the event will be sent to Happy Hollow’s conservation partner WildlifeDirect, a non-profit organization working to save Mountain Gorillas in the Democratic Republic of Congo from extinction.

For more information, please call (408) 277-3065 or visit www.hhpz.org for a map to the collection site.
