Americans Want Green Brands, But Don’t Know Any

PR Week profiles the results of a new survey showing that while many in the United Kingdom want businesses to take a stand on environmental issues like climate change, 69 percent of those polled are unable to name a company that is currently doing so.

For those who were able to name companies that are branded as green leaders, the most frequently cited were British grocery store Tesco, energy company British Petroleum and multi-industry company The Co-Operative.

The poll also divided consumers into six different groups when it comes to environmental issues: the confused (25 percent of the population), the optimists (21 percent), the campaigners (18 percent), the rejecters (18 percent), the unwilling (10 percent) and the followers (8 percent).

Earth 911 suggests that those who fall into any of these six groups check out Earth 911’s Climate Change page to learn more about the issue and how it affects you.
