Making TV Commercials the Carbon-Neutral Way

Advertising Age features a new advertising campaign from Versus cable TV and ad agency Brooklyn Brothers that is believed to be the first carbon-neutral campaign ever created.

Brooklyn Brothers used a specialized software program to track all carbon emissions throughout the shoot, which ended up producing 15 different spots. Brooklyn Brothers created the program in partnership with environmental-engineering firm ERM, and plans to implement similar tactics on future commercial shoots.

Once the amount of carbon emissions is determined, Brooklyn Brothers was able to offset this total to create a carbon-neutral campaign. Carbon emissions are considered to be one of the primary causes of climate change.
