Paper Recycling Awards

The 2008 American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) Recycling Awards has two different categories for schools to participate in: the School-Wide (K-12) and the College and University Recycling Awards.

Schools can enter the competition by visiting the Paper Recycling Awards website and providing information about their school’s recycling program. The deadline for entries is January 31, 2008.

Winners will be flown to New York for the 131st Annual Paper Week in March, and will receive a monetary prize and a piece of original paper art.

Last year’s winners were Potter Street Elementary School in Bainbridge, Ga. and Barbara Bush Elementary School in Grand Prairie, Texas (school-wide), as well as Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. (college and university).

There is also a category for individuals to compete for their own Recycling Award, but there is no age classification for this.
