The Tufts Daily features a story on 2007 being a banner year for the passage of laws regarding the disposal of electronic waste, with five different states passing e-waste recycling laws.

The article breaks down how e-waste recycling is done in Massachusetts, with the process varying by city. Massachusetts doesn’t have any legislation in effect on take-backs (where manufacturers are responsible for offering electronics recycling), but since 2000 computers and televisions have been banned from landfills.

Tufts University has its own program, Tufts Recycles, that handles the eco-friendly disposal of university computers. However, the program does not take in student computers.
