12% Of Consumers Will Pay Extra For Green Electronics

Environmental Leader releases the results of a new survey showing that over 25 million Americans are willing to pay extra for electronics that are more energy-efficient.

The study classifies three different types of consumers: bright green (strongly agree on paying more for electronics), green (agree but not strongly) and non-green (don’t share environmental concerns). Twelve percent of consumers polled fall in the bright green category.

The survey also took into account manufacturers, and Apple was the “greenest” with 17 percent of Apple customers polled fitting into the bright green category. PC users with all brands combined represented 13 percent bright green consumers.

The environmental practices of electronics manufacturers is an ongoing issue, with more and more companies Earth 911′s Electronics page.
