Sports Agent to Provide Electronic Recycling at Super Bowl Party

For those looking to attend this year’s Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, this year’s game will also be an opportunity to recycle your obsolete cell phones and laptops.

Agent Leigh Steinberg, the real-life inspiration for the movie Jerry Maguire, will have a different twist to his 22nd Annual Super Bowl Party on February 2. He has teamed up with Electronic Recyclers to provide free recycling of small electronic items for party guests and community members.

Steinberg and Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon will lead off the campaign by recycling their own cellular phones and laptops. Bins will be available at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The party will also feature a “Green Team” of cheerleaders and a “green carpet” for celebrities in attendance. Steinberg will also release an endangered owl in a special presentation, with a silent auction of sports memorabilia that benefits the Environmental Fund for Arizona.

i love that the NFL and other organizers are thinking about these issues. these huge events have to leave a pretty huge carbon footprint!

not sure i would bring a laptop for recycling with me for the big game, though . . .
