School Group Decides to Use $100,000 for Recycling
Quad-Cities Online profiles the paper recycling campaign of the Rock Island Office of Education, which has used a $100,000 grant and a partnership with Midland Davis to promote recycling in 24 schools.
Student clubs are getting involved in collection, and one school was able to fill 12 65-gallon bins with paper. Midland Davis is providing the bins and free pick-up service.
Paper recycling in schools is gaining popularity, with programs starting in California and Illinois among others. To learn how your school can start a recycling program, visit Earth 911′s How to Start a Recycling Program page.
