Paper Recycling Awards Deadline

Thanks to the dedication of millions of Americans who recycle on a daily basis, a record 53.4 percent (53.5 million tons) of the paper consumed in the U.S. was recovered for recycling in 2006. While this is a significant achievement, the industry has set a goal to recover 55 percent by 2012.

Paper AwardsAs part of the effort to reach 55 percent recovery, the American Forest & Paper Association will once again showcase some of the nation’s top paper recycling programs through the Paper Recycling Awards. Interested applicants can apply for one of the following awards:

  • AF&PA Business Leadership Recycling Award
  • AF&PA Community Recycling Award
  • AF&PA School-Wide (K-12) Recycling Award
  • AF&PA College & University Recycling Award

For more information, visit the Paper Recycling Awards website. The deadline for entries is January 31, 2008, with winners being flown to New York for the ceremony during AF&PA’s 131st Annual Paper Week. Winners will also receive a monetary prize.
