Could Waste Heat From Car Exhausts Be Recycled To Help Power Cars?
Electronic News Network investigates the possibility of using heat from cars to create electricity, which could provide a five percent savings in fuel.
The savings would come because recycling the exhaust heat would allow cars to replace their alternators.
The process is being researched by England’s Cardiff University, and is known as thermoelectric generation. It is the same method used to control the temperature in your refrigerator.
