Toys R Us Launches Eco-Friendly Toys

Environmental Leader reports that Toys R Us is introducing a line of toys made from materials including wood and organic cotton by Earth Day.

A few other highlights of the new line:

  • Packaging will be no less than 70 percent recycled material
  • Wooden toys will be marked with the Forest Stewardship Council logo
  • Cotton dolls are colored using natural or water-based dyes

These new products are marked with a green reversed “R” logo with a green leaf, encircled by the words “Recycle, Renew, Reuse, Re-think.”

Toys R Us will be introducing new toys in the line later this year. To properly dispose of children’s toys that you no longer need, use Earth 911′s recycling locator.
