Avis Cuts Paper Consumption

Recognizing the popularity of electronic information, Avis Rent a Car is discontinuing the printing and distribution of customer brochures and marketing materials and sending customers to Avis.com for this information.

The company expects these changes to reduce paper consumption by 100 tons per year while saving 1,500 trees a year.

Avis did not say whether it will continue providing maps to customers, or feature more cars with a built-in GPS to eliminate the need for paper maps.
