Orange County Recycling Program Wins Clear Choice Award

The O.C. may be known for its glamorous lifestyles and scenic views. But Orange County, North Carolina now has recognition of its known: a commitment to commercial glass recycling.

Results of the 2008 Glass Packaging Institute (GPI) are in, which honored 12 consumer products and the Orange County, North Carolina Solid Waste Management Department for excellence in glass packaging and recycling.

Orange County serves 140 businesses and collects over 400 tons of glass each year. Consumer products were judged in different categories, including beer, wine, food, organic food and cosmetics. To see a full list of winners, visit the GPI site.
