Free Styrofoam Recycling Event in Salem, Oregon

Styrofoam products not accepted by Marion County curbside recycling programs will be collected at a special event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 14 at Willamette University’s Sparks Fieldhouse in Salem, OR.

Items accepted at the event:

  • Dry block packing foam
  • Meat trays
  • Food containers
  • Styrofoam egg cartons

Items not accepted:

  • Styrofoam with tape
  • Construction foams
  • Packing peanuts

The foam will be taken to PLC Recycling where it will be processed and mixed with other types of plastic and then sold to picture frame company, according to the Statesman Journal.
