The broken down food ends up in the landfill anyway and what escapes the filter does harm to aquatic ecosystems...especially oil and grease. Composting IS the best method but if it&#039;s not possible, then save your unrecycleable containers (in Philadelphia we unfortunately only recycle 1s and 2s) and pour your grease and food items into those before disposing of them in the garbage.</description>
