National Recycling Awards Adds Safety Category

The British-based National Recycling Awards have decided to include a new award for 2008, recognizing the development of health and safety initiatives.

The organization claims that recycling industry accidents are four times the average in the United Kingdom, and the UK will be hiring more employees due to increased recycling goals.

Award nominations are due on August 22, with the 10th Annual National Recycling Awards ceremony taking place on November 12. November 15 is America Recycles Day.
