Sustainable Packaging Trend Grows

Food packaging company PWP Industries (used to be Packaging with Perfection) has introduced AgroResin, a sustainable packaging line.

Agro-Resin packaging is 100 percent biodegradable and made from renewable agricultural biomass fiber composite. It is also microwavable and has been approved by the FDA for direct food contact. Since food packaging is one of the major contents of landfills, biodegradable packaging in the food industry makes a big impression.

On the company’s site, they talk about “thinking beyond today,” and say that they are trying to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

AgroResin was designed using a lifecycle approach. It can be made from any plant fiber and takes advantage of the renewable fiber residue of agricultural farming.

The introduction of the sustainable packaging is the result of a PWP corporate-wide green initiative called Earth’s Pack.
