Pesticides Among Contaminants Not Regulated in Drinking Water

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released its newest list of what contaminants will be regulated in drinking water, and 11 have been removed from the list, including pesticides and herbicides.
The EPA held a 60-day period of public comment in regards to subtracting the now non-regulated contaminants from the list, which also includes boron and dinitrotoluene (DNT, a precursor of the explosive TNT).
The Agency concluded that none of these 11 contaminants occur naturally in drinking water, or they are present at levels below health concern.
One way to help keep these contaminants out of our drinking water is to properly dispose of pesticides, herbicides and explosives using Earth 911.
