Regional Recycling Roundtable: TV Digital Conversion – Are You Ready?

Thursday, August 14, 2008
1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
H-GAC Conference Room C
3555 Timmons Lane
Houston, Texas 77027

On February 17, 2009, all broadcast television stations in the U.S. will stop broadcasting on analog airwaves and begin broadcasting only in digital. Local governments can help educate consumers and be prepared for an influx of televisions at recycling centers across the region.

Speakers at this roundtable will discuss potential environmental concerns with the TV switch, as well as resources available to help consumers and recyclers as the TV switch approaches. After the speakers, we will take a tour of CompuCycle, a scrap computer processing facility in Northwest Houston, to see how the electronic recycling process works.

Please RSVP by August 12, 2008.

For more information or to RSVP please contact Gena McKinley at 713-993-4529 or email gena.mckinley@h-gac.com.
