Portable Bins Promote Recycling At Big Events
Burlington County, Pennsylvania has a bright idea to make recycling easy and affordable at big events: portable bins that can quickly be set-up anywhere.
The county recently purchased 50 receptacles, which are loaned out as needed, reports the Burlington County Times. Recycling coordinator Ann Moore recognized a “big gap” in the system at large events, and the traveling containers present a convenient solution.
This weekend will be the test run for the bins. More than 1,000 swimmers are expected to compete in the Tri-County League Championships in Cinnaminson. Particpants and fans are sure to generate a huge number of water and sports drink bottles.
The collapsible containers are very easy to transport. The simple design consists of a wire frame, which can be lined with a plastic bag.
If your local events don’t have recycling bins, use Earth 911 to find a location to recycle your plastic bottles.

I would be very interested in the results of this test run of the collapsible recycling bins. This also has been a major concern of mine as an elementary school teacher who taught conservation and recycling to thousands of enthusiatic students, but found a gap in the availability of proper reycling bins in the community facilities.

l am the recycling Division Manager for the CIty of Auburn Al abama. I think the collapsible recycling bins are a very good idea. This could facilitate transporting bins to curbside and allow a variety of uses for the portable bins.
What company makes or sells the collapsible recycling bins? Who can I contatc in Alabama or elsewhere to purchase them?
